CHELSEA L. McGRATH joined Ferruzzo & Ferruzzo in May, 2016 as a Legal Intern. Chelsea was assigned wills, trusts, advanced healthcare directives, durable power of attorneys, quitclaim deeds, and other ancillary estate planning documents to review for clients. She also processed trust administration documents, including death of trustee affidavits, date of death value forms, SS-4 applications, California Probate Code Section 16061.7 notifications, and beneficiary distribution and researched and drafted legal memoranda on issues of trust administration and tax, contract, and corporate law.
Chelsea was one of a small group of students selected to staff the Pepperdine Law Review and an article of hers was published in 2017. Her article is one of seven other student articles selected for publication in Pepperdine Law Review, XLIV. In her third year of law school, she was designated by the Board of Pepperdine Law Review to serve as an Associate Editor, in which she collected and incorporated edits from the second year students and added any further citation, spelling, grammar, or substantive improvements to the articles before going to publication. In her second year of law school, she was a Research Assistant to Professor Wendel and Professor Popovich, editing and researching for a collaborative wills and trust textbook, as well as a forthcoming law review article. She also participated in Pepperdine’s first Tax Clinic in the spring 2016 semester, wherein she represented low-income taxpayers at the Union Rescue Mission in resolving various Internal Revenue Service matters.
