PEGGYANN BOOK is a Paralegal with the Employment Law Practice Group at Ferruzzo. As a paralegal, she assists employers with issues regarding employment practices and employment law compliance, monitoring state and federal employment regulations that impact clients. She drafts employee handbooks and policies, performance appraisals, job descriptions and other employment documents or tools. She conducts wage and hour audits of time cards and wage statements for compliance. Peggyann creates and presents training on employment topics ranging from hiring to separation and sexual harassment prevention. She also assists attorneys and clients with employment litigation matters.
Peggyann previously worked in senior level human resources positions for educational institutions including Southern California University of Health Sciences, Scripps College and Chapman University, and for May Department Stores. She has expertise in the administration and management of all areas of human resources including talent management, compensation and benefits, state and federal employment law compliance, employee relations, leaves of absence, risk management, payroll, and training. She provided advice to managers concerning human resources best practices and employee relations issues, identified training requirements for management and staff development and represented employers at administrative agency hearings including EDD, Worker’s Compensation Appeals Board, California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and the EEOC.
