Sean E. Morrissey

Sean E. Morrissey is a Senior Associate at FERRUZZO. He was born in Newport Beach, California, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fullerton. Upon graduating, he obtained his real estate license, which sparked his interest in the legal industry and inspired him to go to law school.  Sean obtained his juris doctorate in 2012 from Ohio Northern University, The Claude W. Pettit College of Law, where he was a Member of the Pi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

Prior to joining Ferruzzo & Ferruzzo, Sean acquired significant experience servicing an average size case load of 175 matters, personally drafting and arguing all facets of the litigation from inception to final resolution of multi-state, multi-office warranty matters for General Motors LLC and also for Ford Motor Company. His practice focused primarily on defending claims under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Unfair Competition Laws, and for fraud. He will be an asset for the services we provide to all our auto clients.

Sean also has legislative experience contributing to lobbying efforts to state legislators in an effort to reform and reduce warranty litigation and in reviewing, improving, and implementing Song-Beverly policies and procedures for automobile manufactures and call-centers to minimize post-litigation potential liability and to conform to California law.

Aside from his experience in the auto industry, Sean has extensive experience representing multiple Commercial and Residential Landlords with multi-million dollar properties in the Orange County area in Unlawful Detainer Actions, Defense of Tenant Claims, and Eviction Proceedings. In the finance arena, Sean has performed comprehensive examination of mortgage documents, including: Notes, Security Instruments, Mortgage Service Providers' internal documents, capitalization worksheets, court documents, complex legal documents, and Borrower Complaints while in a supervisory position during the Independent Foreclosure Review conducted by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Office of Thrift Supervision, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Sean resides in Costa Mesa with his wife and two children.  Sean enjoys travelling, surfing, snowboarding, and golfing.
