Adam K. Obeid is an associate at the law firm of Ferruzzo & Ferruzzo, LLP. He was born on October 7th, 1976 in West Covina, California. Adam graduated with honors from Occidental College in 1998, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Philosophy. In May, 2006, Adam graduated with honors from Western State University College of Law, passed the July 2006 bar exam, and joined the firm in December of 2006.
Adam has an extensive background in business and employment law, having actively participated in his family's franchise of Denny's Restaurants after graduating from college in 1998. During that time, Adam spearheaded the expansion of his family's business by increasing the number of franchises owned from three to seven within a five year period and oversaw the construction of those restaurants from the ground up. Additionally, he interviewed, hired and supervised the training of over 500 employees, negotiated contracts with vendors and suppliers and ensured the company was in compliance with all applicable local and state laws. Aside from actively managing the daily operations of over 350 employees and seven restaurants, Adam was responsible for representing his family's company on all employment law related matters, including compliance with EDD, EEOC, DFEH, the Labor Commission and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board guidelines. He has extensive experience promoting and enforcing policies and procedures prohibiting harassment and discrimination in the work place. Likewise, he has experience with wage and hour law, overtime disputes, application of FMLA/CFRA, employee discipline and termination, posting requirements, wrongful termination and Labor Code Section 132a actions. Moreover, he has experience drafting employee handbooks and presenting seminars on employee practices.
As a result of his real world experience in his family owned businesses, Adam has a unique appreciation and understanding of the problems that small business owners face on a daily basis. It is because of his understanding of these problems that he is able to quickly ascertain and respond to the needs of his clients.
